Job Description
Cobalt?a leading provider of online retailing and search engine marketing solutions for the automotive industry?seeks a Lead SEO Specialist. With the SEO Manager and input with other Cobalt personnel, the Lead SEO Specialist defines and develops effective Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies for implementation on websites of assigned Cobalt ProCare and PowerSearch Complete customers, with the goal of generating increased search engine referral targeted web traffic, and thereby increased lead generation.
The Lead SEO Specialist collaborates with and supports Account Advocates in achieving the customers? strategic SEO goals. This position requires in-depth knowledge of Cobalt website products and services utilized by Cobalt customers, as well as an understanding of how these products and services function to support the customers? strategic goals. The Lead SEO Specialist should have the ability to articulate this knowledge in a clear, professional manner via verbal and written communications to the customer and Cobalt internal teams.
Essential Functions
The Lead SEO Specialist is responsible for providing technical leadership to the SEO team via the following activities:
* Works with product development and product management in identifying, implementing and testing website platform enhancements that contribute to the success of the natural search ranking of Cobalt sites.
* Brings SEO specific product enhancements, roadmap items and recommended tools to the attention of Proactive Services Management personnel and Product Management for inclusion into the overall product roadmap.
* Contributes to the technical growth of other SEO Specialists through mentoring, establishing SEO methodology guidelines and workflow processes while contributing to the SEO certification process.
* Represents the SEO team internally by providing SEO subject matter expertise and training to Cobalt personnel as necessary.
* Works with the SEO Specialists and Account Advocates to manage escalated organic search issues with specific customers. This may mean participating in conference calls with the customer or internal sales people, etc.Applied Search Engine Optimization
* Applies industry standard and ethical SEO techniques to Cobalt customer websites, including: keyword analysis/selection, competitive analysis, keyword density analysis, optimization of site content, optimization of meta tags, link placement, internal linking strategy, site submission, etc.
* Develops, delivers and analyzes SEO reports that play a key role in analyzing site traffic, organic search placement and the effectiveness of the overall SEO strategy.
* Supports Account Advocates by contributing SEO subject matter expertise to analyses, customer presentations and discussions as necessary, and through overflow coverage of ProCare inbound inquiries, as needed.
* Keeps up to date on current SEO strategies in the marketplace through continuing education, including seminars, books and other literature, subscriptions, etc.
* Acts as the technical subject matter expert on SEO for the Proactive Support Services team and other Cobalt personnel as necessary.SEO Specialist Technical Leadership
* Provides technical mentoring and training to SEO Specialists to ensure that the Cobalt SEO methodology is understood and adhered to.
* Provides technical direction in organizing and managing the technical sections of team meetings.
* Identifies SEO industry resources (subscriptions, blogs, chat rooms, books, etc) that will advance the team?s understanding of SEO.
* Provides significant input and direction into the Cobalt SEO certification program, and in determining the technical progress and certification status of personnel.
